Wednesday July 27, 2005 Official Word on TSO in the UK... "After about 15 phone calls round EA, I finally found a guy called Glenn in the marketing department, who assured me that there were no plans for an October release in the UK, and no plans for a European release ever. He said he'd pass on the information to the sales team so they could contact the retailers to explain that they had incorrect information on their web site. Sorry. I was hoping it would be more positive too... I guess all we can do is carry on spreading the word about the free download and promoting it as we can on sims message boards, forums, websites and communities. aj" Courtesy of ajdown@jp from the Sims Stratics Boards. It would seem that while two UK websites did allow people to preorder the game, it turned out to be a fluke. The official word is that the game won't be coming to the UK, as well as other European nations, ever. This is unfortunate, but it is EA's and Maxis' choice to make. They have all the statistics and whatnot to go by. Thank you very much, AJ, for clearing this up, and thank you everyone for understanding. We apologize for any inconvenience. Links to official Sims Online websites, including where free trials can be downloaded, can be found to the right. Happy Simming, everyone! |

Friday July 15, 2005 Bugs? The UK? Sim Move? Huh? Hiyas everybody! We apologize for our lack of site updates. Because there haven't been any major game updates recently, we haven't had much to update on ourselves. However, that is bound to change soon, what with Sim Move approaching! MaxisSahara has stated that Sim Move should be arriving to the game by about the end of July. The feature will be tested in one or two live cities for additional testing, and will then go to all cities, provided everything goes smoothly. For more details, feel free to check out our TSO news section and archives. And, of course, this update wouldn't be complete without a picture of the Sim Move console... ![]() Aside from Sim Move news, we have added some new bugs to our bug sections. Check 'em out! And finally, we've got some major news, especially for residents of the UK. We have discovered that The Sims Online is being released in stores in the United Kingdom on October 25th, 2005, for approximately 30 Pounds. You can preorder the game at Game Planet and UKpcgames.com. If and when the game is released in the UK, it could be a great addition to the Sims Online community. More players are always welcome, and international players make the game more global and amazing. Please, though, bear in mind that this is just information that we at TSO Mania have found. There has not been any official word from Maxis or EA at this point. However, since sites are offering preordering, it does look quite good. Enjoy, everybody! |
