Crafting Updates

With the new patch today in Test Center, Maxis raised the raitings on the objects that can be crafted on the workbench. All of the objects will now raise your needs significantly faster. We have updated the Objects Catalog to reflect these changes.

Let's Get Crafty!

Well tonight was a night full of experimentation with the new player crafting object. Maxis gave all Test Center citizens $500,000 to play around with this new object. What seemed like would be a piece of cake, turned out to be not so easy. There seems to be a varied success rate when attempting to craft an object. Sometimes sims will full skill and green needs would succeed, and sometimes they wouldn't. There is no pattern that we can pick out as of yet. We will be adding a more detailed guide to the crafting object in the coming week.

For your viewing pleasure we have begun to update our objects catalog, with the Workbench added to the Skill and Job Object category, and a whole new category created for Craftable Objects which includes prices, and effects the objects have on your sims. Here is a screenshot of the new bed, painting and computer.

Artisans and Doctors? Take a Look!

Two months after TSO's Beta Test, plans for a large variety of jobs were released from Maxis, all with very high promise. With combonations of every skill out there, these jobs would have provided a great deal of variety in the populations of TSO, and would have given everyone their own place in the community. However, almost two full years later, only one of them, the shaman job, has been added to the gameplay. While Maxis has neglected to mention anything of these designs, and probably has no plans for implementing them, who knows what may happen. With the new object crafting designs that were just released, we were reminded of the old job plans, and thought we would share them. The crafting tables seem to combine five of the original jobs into one which anyone can participate at. So here you go! Enjoy the designs for jobs which may never be seen... Skill-based jobs in The Sims Online.
