Original Jobs Design

A player with a combination of two high skills (both over eight) will enable themselves to perform a special role in the community. Though there will not be direct "pay" for this role, there will be few people in the community who can perform it, so the player may be able to convince other players to pay them for their services.

A player who has more than two skills maxed will qualify to perform more than one role. (However, be advised that ultra-high skill carries with it much higher skill decay, so it is not expected that many players will pursue this.)

A summary of roles is below, followed by a brief description of each.

Judge
A judge can perform weddings and divorces. Marriage shows up in the friendship web as a special type of friendship. Each Sim can only be married to one person.

Doctor
Doctors can nurse sick Sims back to health much more quickly than they can get well through bed rest. See Sickness design for more info.

Shaman
A Shaman will be able to bring dead Sims back to life. Eventually, they may be able to help permanently retire Sims as well.

Comedian
A comedian has an "Entertain" option at the microphone with extra puppeteering available. While they are entertaining, fun is being broadcast to all the people around them, and there is a "Tip" interaction on them.

Musician
A musician can select specific songs to be played from the DJ booth, stereo, and musical instruments. They will also broadcast fun and have a "Tip" option on them.

Firefighter
A firefighter can put out fires much more quickly than regular Sims. See upcoming fire design for more info.

Exterminator
An exterminator can kill roaches much more quickly than regular Sims. Sims roaches can make people sick, people are motivated to want them gone quickly. See upcoming roach design for more info.

Object Creators (Vocational Trainer, Electrical Engineer, Woodworker, Mechanical Engineer, Artisan)
Until custom content is available, object creators will be able to create objects from the catalog at workshop objects. They will have to pay for materials, and it will take time to create the object. But overall, the cost will be much less than buying it through the catalog.

Reporter
A reporter can create a template for use in a copier machine object. The copier makes multiple copies of a piece of paper which can be distributed directly to different properties. See Paper and Copier design for more info.

Police
Periodically, we will make certain interactions illegal: fighting, bubble blowing, etc. When we do, we will tune up the effects of those interactions to be hugely positive. If a cop finds the activity happening, they can issue a citation. They collect the fine money that the players have to pay. Watch for upcoming police design.

Bartender
A bartender uses the bars from the expansion packs to mix various drinks. Different liquids have different powers, so they can make custom mixes to suit various needs.
