Creating a Picture Step #1 You will need a picture that is the correct file size and type. You are restricted to uploading pictures that are under 100KB (kilobytes) in file size and have a file format of either Bitmap (BMP), JPEG, or PNG. To check the file size locate your picture in Windows Explorer, right click on the picture and select "Properties" from the menu. The size will be displayed in the property page that appears. If you find your file size is too large you may want to open your picture in a photo editing program and reduce its width and height. There are many free photo editing software packages available, take a look at the custom content introduction for links to some. ![]() File Type and Size in Windows Step #2 Copy your picture over to the custom content folder EA has created. From your desktop click on "My Documents" then "EA Games" then "EA-Land" and finally "Uploads". Inside this folder you will need to make another folder named "Images" if it does not already exist. Once you have created the Images folder copy any pictures you want to upload to it. ![]() Path to the Images Folder Step #3 Locate an open Money or Services lot where you can make use of a "Dimanche" Folding Easel or a Thumbhammer Workbench . Clicking on the easel will give you the option to "Create Custom Painting" and clicking on the workbench will give you the option to "Custom Build > Pictures > Bitmap". Either one of these methods will bring you to the same screen. ![]() Custom Painting on the "Dimanche" Folding Easel Step #4 You will be presented with a panel at the bottom of your screen that allows you to select one of the pictures you copied to your custom content folder, and see a preview of how the picture will look on the painting once its complete. Select the picture you want to upload and click the middle button on the left side of the panel to describe your custom content. ![]() Selecting a Picture Step #5 Enter a title and description for your image. This will be seen when someone views the picture in their inventory or uses the custom content viewer interaction. After you have entered both pieces of information click the last button on the left side of the panel to complete your custom content order. ![]() Entering the Details Step #6 Select the number of copies you want to make of your picture (1, 5 or 10) and the cost of your order will be displayed. If you approve of the cost click on the "Place Order!" button. ![]() Ordering You will recieve a confirmation dialog that the upload was successful and the picture will be placed in your inventory. The picture will initially appear as a purple and blue image until it has been approved by an EA staff member. You will recieve an in-game mail message once it has been approved/disapproved. Using Custom Pictures By default custom pictures come with its own stand which can be placed on the floor or on any surface such as a counter. The default picture and stand are sometimes called "Picsicles" or "Picture on a Stick" by the players. You do not have to keep the default stand however, as there are many objects in the game that are "Skinnable" which means you can insert your picture into them to give it a new frame/look. Head on over to the Skinnable Objects guide for more information. ![]() A Collection of Custom Paintings Ordering More You are limited to an initial order of 10 of the same custom picture. If you need more than 10 you do not have to create or upload the same picture again, instead you can use the reordering feature. To reorder a custom picture simply place the picture out on your lot, or have a friend place it on theirs, then click on the picture and select "Reorder 1, 5 or 10". You will then be given the cost of the order, and be asked to confirm it. Once confirmed the pictures will be placed in your inventory. Remember the custom picture must not be inside a skinnable object if you want to reorder it. ![]() Reordering Custom Content |
