Custom Content Chairs in TC3
Source: http://tso-e.com/blog/?p=497
Today EA has opened up the ability for players to upload their own custom chairs to Test Center 3 using the crafting table. Take a look at the blog post Luc made for instructions on how to upload your chairs, and if you are not sure how to make your own chairs take a look at the excellent tutorials made by Thrill of Test Center. His tutorials will show you where to download the programs required to make IFF object files, and how to edit the textures which make up the look of the chair. Happy uploading!

New Chairs Added

We have updated the Buy Mode Catalog with the two new chairs added to Test Center 3 in the previous version update, and changed the thumbnail icon of the Wicker Chair to reflect the background color change made in game.

Head on over to the Buy Mode Catalog to see the new Lazy Sunday Chair, and the Old Hollywood Chair!

Version 2.1524.0.0 in Test Center 3
Source: http://tso-e.com/blog/?p=483
Hi,

This is a little late I know, everyone just keep their heads, please. (Cause now you know we can and will take them). My fingers are tired but at least I have them. The developers are tired but they are all the seasoned professionals with good a heads on their shoulders. We know there are still some issues please don’t bite our heads off. I personally was happy that I did not have to go from MaxisLee to MaxisLee-Anne but just in case I am happy we had the name change working in TC3. Oh, and one final warning those making sim clothes out of §imoleans will have their bodies removed. On that note I say we “head” straight to what is in the build.
  • TC to TC3 Merge: Done.
  • Holiday Objects: Enabled
  • City Selector: New login screen
  • New Objects: Added some chairs. This should enable the chair of the week club meeting. See Keep it Real for times and locations.
That wraps it up. Next week will be the last update for this year.

Happy Hanuka,

Lee

TC to TC3 Merge Wednesday
Source: http://tso-e.com/blog/?p=477
Hello everyone,

Tomorrow is the big day!. As of this writing (12/04/2007 2:45 PM PST) I have begun to shut down Test Center and Test Center 3 in preparation for tomorrows merge of these two cities. We are shutting down the cities so that we may back up both Test Center and Test Center 3 data bases. A couple items to note:
  • After Test Center has been backed up it will not be re-opened to the public. I will restart the city and it will be marked as internal to EA only.
  • After Test Center 3 has been backed up I will re-open the city to the public. This back up will be the final back up before Test Center is merged. If there is any form of data lose during the merge we only have up until 3:00 PM PST on 12/04/2007.
I expect Test Center 3 to be off line for about 1 hour.

Exciting times ahead. See you all in TC3 later tonight and lets open the doors big time for all those in Test Center who will be joining us tomorrow.

Cheers,

Lee

Small Crafting Guide Update

I've recently started to experiment with the Web Services EA has made available to developers. For those of you who do not know what Web Services are, take a look at the detailed article Paul has written about them. They are open to anyone who would like to develop a widget or application, all you need to do is send Paul an email requesting access.

The first update to the site I have made using web services is the requirements chart in the Crafting Guide. If you have an avatar in Test Center 3 you can simply enter your avatar name and the chart will filter itself based on your skills, there is no more need to enter your skills in manually. Please take a look and let me know what you think!
