Crafting Guide Updated

Crafting Guide
Hello everyone!

Today we bring you an update to the crafting guide. Gone are the days where you have to switch back and forth between the game and the requirements chart to see which objects match your skill level. By entering your skill levels into the guide, you can now filter the requirements chart to only show the objects you can craft. We hope you enjoy this new time saving feature.

The City Merge and EA Land

EA Land
As many of you may have seen over the past few months, EA is working on a brand new version of The Sims Online which will bring in some new features such as custom content, real life money transactions including buying and selling simoleons from EA.

In order to bring the game into a position to sustain these new features and economy the current production cities and Test Center will be closed and merged with the new cities EA Land and Test Center 3. The merge will be affecting your Sim in some way or another and many questions have arisen about what exactly will be happening before and after the merge. We have compiled a few of the most frequently asked questions and answers:

What will be moving with me to EA Land, and will I loose anything?
So far we know that your lot, house, objects, inventory, anniversary gifts, skills, skill locks, and job position will move with you to the new city. The only thing that will not move is your money.

Why are they taking away our money?
Money is being wiped because EA needs to control what money is earned and what money is spent inside the game due to the simple fact that real life money transactions will now be involved. If you moved with your current money, it could possibly be sold to EA for real life money.

Will the money I have stored in objects, such as clothing racks, move?
No. Any money that is in objects like tip jars and clothing racks will be removed. Any clothes you have stored inside the racks will move.

Can I opt-out of the merge and stay where I am?
There is no way to opt-out of the merge. All the production cities will eventually be closed in favor of EA Land.

What if I live in Test Center? Where will I go?
Test Center Sims will be moving to the new test city, Test Center 3. All the same rules apply as to what will and will not move.

When will all of this happen?
There is no definite timescale of when this will happen, however EA has expressed great interest in moving quickly. We do know that Test Center will be the first city merged.

Can I leave Test Center now if I want my Sim to move to EA Land instead of Test Center 3?
Yes. EA has enabled moving out of Test Center to the current production cities, this is something that was not possible before.

We will be keeping you up to date with all the latest information on the city merge and EA Land. Of course, if you have any questions at all please feel free to drop us a line at inquiry at tsomania dot net

Version 2.1448.0.0 in Test Center 3
Source: http://tso-e.com/blog/?p=326
Hello,

It is that time again. Today’s update will now allow all players to make a TC3 avatar. In addition this is the first step, of many, that will move us forward on opening EA-Land. It is also lays the foundation for getting you improved graphics rolled out.

Edit by Lee Fancey: If you have trouble logging in after you patch please go here and run the install

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=200B2FD9-AE1A-4A14-984D-389C36F85647&displaylang=en

After I patch the city today you will see a modified login screen as illustrated below.

As you can see from above you are now able to select from Test Center 3 and The Sims Online. The Sims Online option allows you connect to all your favorite old cities while the Test Center 3 option will let you get to TC3 with out having to sacrifice one of you characters. Now everyone can come to the Pub to get questions answered. Heck sometimes we even have fun at the Pub.

Before you ask; yes the other options are grayed out as they are not yet functional. EA-Land should be self describing. “TC3 - test” and “EALand - test” will “eventually” allow you to patch to the upgraded graphics version. Since we know some of you may not be able to run the new graphis these two buttons exist so you can patch back and still play the game.

I hope to see all of you at the Pub.

Cheers,

Lee

Version 2.1445.0.0 in Test Center 3
Source: http://tso-e.com/blog/?p=322
Hi everyone,

It is Wednesday again, or at least it will be tomorrow. In a stunning break from tradition we have decided to post what is coming in tomorrow’s update to TC3 today.
  • Object prices: Reduced Object prices by another 25%.
  • Crafting costs: Reduced crafting costs by another 25%.
  • Clothing Sale: Clothing costs have been marked down.
  • Custom Content: We have resolved the issues surrounding the current custom content bug. However for this week, we will still only allow Parizad to create custom content. We need to make sure it keeps the game stable.
  • Model Exporter: We dusted off the internal model exporter pipeline a little. This will make it easier for us to start bringing in new objects.
  • End User Agreement: Updated this so that when you start up the game you will be asked to accept a new User Agreement. It is currently the same agreement you all accepted when you installed the game. You will not need to accept this again until we update to the new User Agreement.
  • TestCenter 1 moves: We think the issues are resolved and these seem to be working now.
Many exciting changes are on the horizon. Thanks for all the feedback see you in the game.

Cheers,

Lee

Version 2.1438.0.0 in Test Center 3
Source: http://tso-e.com/blog/?p=307
Hello again,

So as usually update the city then let you know what has changed, it’s my style. In the future I will get these two events closer together. Really busy day for me so with not much fanfare here are the changes:
  • 10% OFF SALE on all objects with a little bit extra off on typewriters.
  • Crafting costs reduced by 10%.
  • Catalog changes: Starting now we will begin removing items from the catalog. Soon all items will only be available from stores.
  • Money Objects now only work on money lots.
  • Casino objects have been disabled.
  • Custom Content: Object now has a view interaction. Check it out at the Pub.
  • Moves from Test Center are enabled. There is a bug that we are chasing so while some moves are working some are not. We know about the problem and are tracking it. We will get you all evacuated so don’t worry. Try to avoid cancelling moves if you schedule one in the mean time.
So I think that about covers it for this week. I have a lot of work to do so I best get back to it quick.

See you at the Pub, Stratics, or who knows maybe in your city.

Cheers,

Lee
