"Curse of Aphrodite" Statue

Though partially destroyed, these Hellenistic statues have all the life and vitality as when first carved. Their curse was first discovered by the Christian iconoclast who ordered their destruction in the anti-pagan campaign of 387 AD. Later, when Lord Lummox tried to obtain their custody for Britain, he met the same gruesome fate. Perhaps someday, these ancient statues will rest in peace. |
