Thursday January 13, 2005 Betaville Opens! Betaville, the first city in The Sims Online to feature the new "Free Will" prototype has opened its doors to everyone.  To create a Sim in this city, you will need to log into the game and click the "Free Will" button on the very top of the Select A Sim screen. Clicking this button will cause your game to download the 10mb patch required to enter Betaville. After logging back in you will be presented with a new city selector screen. On this screen you can create up to four different Sims which will be members of the same family. The first sim you create becomes the "Master" Sim. Each sim you create has a personality, this personality is determined by the traits you choose. Nice, Active, Playful, Outgoing, and Neat.  Once you have created all four of your sims, you can enter the city. Moving around in the city is exactly the same as before, except now you have your family of Sims going with you whereever you go. To switch between the active Sim, press the Tab key. The key to switch floors has been changed to Ctrl-Tab. If you want to invite a sim to be a roommate, or become a roommate at a lot, the only Sim that can be invited is the master Sim.  Also in this new city is fire. Fire can occur when you place objects to close to a fireplace, or have a Sim with low cooking using a stove. If a fire occurs, use a phone to call the fire department. |
